Don’t let your flowery gift die so soon!

Flowers are always a great gift to receive. Though they may not last forever, they make for a beautiful interior décor, and keeping them in a vase with water can keep them alive longer.

So now the obvious question, which vase to choose?

Plastic Vases

Plastic vases are very practical. They make not possess a great elegant appeal as the others listed, but they do their job and won’t break easily if knocked over.

Glass Vases

These vases are very common. Glass vases can be decorated, allow you to view the water and other contents in the vase, plus, when the sunlight hits it, it can be a sight to behold.

Ceramic Vases

What can be more beautiful than a ceramic vase? Ceramic vase come in all shapes, colors and size, and seem to add a bit of elegance to any home.

It’s always a good idea to keep a vase or two around the house. If you want to purchase any of the type of flower vase listed here, visit our website.

Wholesale Flower Supplies

Floral Supply knows a thing or two about flowers, and here are some of our favorite ways to add an extra “oomph” to an arrangement!

Feathers

Feathers are a hot trend right now, whether they are real or artificial. Some beautiful feathers that we recommend are Peacock, Ostrich Plumes, and Pheasant feathers.

Artificial Butterflies

What’s a sweeter image than seeing a butterfly gently hovering over a flower? You can capture that sweetness in your own floral arrangement by placing artificial butterflies in them.

Artificial Birds

Bird lovers, this one is for you! Make people do a double-take with realistic looking birds in your flowers. My favorite is an artificial Hummingbird, they’re beautifully subtle. Don’t be afraid to try out new things with your flowers, Floral Supply will always have what you need!

  1. 1. Map Out Pricing Before Booking: Before signing on with a florist, meet with options for your band, venue, cake, and so on, to get a better sense of how you will need to appropriately allocate funds to avoid breaking the bank.

  2. 2. Weigh Cost with Ground Covered: While some bigger flowers may seem more pricey, they also cover a larger surface area, and thus require a smaller purchase order. Be sure to gather not only cost per flower quotes, but also amounts of flowers you would need to cover your desired surface area before deciding on which buds to buy.

  3. 3. Communication: The best way to get the flowers of your dreams for your wedding is to communicate openly with your florist. The more open and honest you are with your vision and your budget, the more accurately your florist can configure the arrangements of your dreams.

Are you looking for a florist for your wedding? Flower Supply offers fantastic wedding flower arrangement options to make your special day memory worthy.

The Bird is the Word

6/2/2014 2:15 PM

Interest right now in is birds, feathers - virtually all avian things- Feathers, cages, and everything in between - has been becoming more and more popular. For weddings and showers, bird-related theme decor are charming elements to add to the occasion. Immagine a pheasant feather theme for a fall wedding, showing peach tones with cream colored roses embedded into the arrangement as shown (Photos courtesy of Talmage McLauren, AIFD). Then add to this, a warm willow or vine basket in the same tones and matching components.  What a beautiful idea.

Brides and Weddings

3/26/2014 1:27 PM

BRIDES and WEDDINGS: Remember that 2/3 of all unmarried Brides maids will have their own wedding within three years (36 months) of being in a wedding line. THAT is why it is so important that your work - and even your own personal relationship with each of them - make a lasting impression on them.  TAKE THE TIME to introduce yourself to them and, if appropriate, give each of them a business card. I know one florist who takes pictures of the brides maids flowers, and prints out a customized "handout" for each brides maid. The repeat business generated from this is a large portion of his total wedding business. It is cheap, and not that time consuming.

Prom Profit Potential

1/25/2014 9:46 AM

In the February issue of Florists' Review, you need to read the article by Francis Dudly, AAF.

In it she discusses the profit potential that shops are missing by not upgrading a basic prom corsage to one that has feathers, lights, jewels, and other adornment items, each creating it's own profit stream. It is well worth the read.

2014 PRODUCT TREND

12/12/2013 1:37 PM

Be on the lookout in 2014 for product themes based on the Post-Edwardian England era. Several companies are now in production of product lines set in this theme, due to the overwhelmingly successful PBS television series Downton Abby and other similar timeframe series. You should see many different "Santa" versions, as well as a large selection of ornaments from this era.
